THE STORY BEHIND THE ADVANCED MANUFACTURING CENTER
The transition for the manufacturing industry to Manufacturing 4.0 asks for alignment with the manufacturing industry, of who large businesses, middle and small sized enterprises and knowledge institutes need to be brought together. To do this the Fraunhofer Project Center at the University of Twente together with regional partners and the government developed the Advanced Manufacturing Program (AMP). This program functions as a framework that will develop into the ecosystem that is necessary to help the East part of the Netherlands thrive.
The results from the AMP program will be translated into the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC) that is currently under development. The AMC will function as a physical location and shopfloor, that will facilitate multi-disciplinary interlinking enabling technologies through demonstrators and testbeds that are crucially relevant for advancing the manufacturing as it is.
